Remember the image where Matthew looked like a [two headed boy all floating in
glass] ?
I figured he must have moved as I was shooting the pic and that's what caused him to be duplicated. Then, tonight when I was going through images I saw this one of me and I know I wasn't moving.
I also know the sign behind me across the street wasn't moving:-)
I figure it has to be the glass. I'm not sure if it's old glass or extremely thick glass or both, but I find it intriguing. Of course I'm easily amused:-)

Nice to meet you (kind of!).
You get a reflection off both the front and back surface of a pane of glass. Part of the light which falls on the front face of the glass is reflected and part passes through. The light which passes through is then refracted and then reaches the rear face. Again part is reflected and part passes through. I think.

I think what rhys says about the reflection makes sense. Anyway it's always nice to "meet" you.

Very clever and creative self-portrait. Love the 'glass' effect. Surprising!!!

I wonder if it would change if your focal point changed? I need to try this one day!

Christopher on 2nd December 2009 @ 8:25am
Whatever the reason the result is a provocative image that is certainly eye-catching....and makes one look and look! Nice to see you...sort of!:-)

Still very cool...sometimes the self-portrait, whether intentional or not, just works!

Reflection images often have lots of mystery. This one sure does. Nice.

Hello Sherri :)
Lov this shot and all the laylers of the world, colours and of course that fantastic photographer!

The glass has two surfaces and I believe that's why that happens -- I think because of the lens in the camera it is picked up (due to the curve) but I could well be wrong about that too :)

That glass DOES make for interesting photos! I think it's cool how some parts are beautifully in focus (even with the duplicate image tendency) and other bits are softer. Very striking!

well, it sure does make for an excellent "backdrop" for a self portrait.. :) very nice shot!
