• I see a patch of snow on the ground. We're supposed to get some down here soon. Looking closely it looks as though the water is moving pretty swiftly.

• Kind of like how photography has evolved as well - what used to be a long, complicated process involving manually mixing chemicals and painstakingly calculating exposures has become, at times, a simple press of a button. One wonders if it's for better or worse.

It's hard now to imagine that kind of travel and the daily tasks they simply took for granted. If a wagon axle broke, you had to stop and carve a new one. To cross a river, you sometimes had to build a raft.
