Charles Dastodd @ 2010-01-11 19:37:03 - it does feel a bit chilly.. well at least you won't have to worry about snakes there.. :)
rian @ 2010-01-11 20:15:50 - desolate area, lovely result.
Otto K. @ 2010-01-11 20:48:13 - It looks so cold, and yet it is beautiful and I wish I could be there in person.
luminouslens @ 2010-01-11 21:01:49 - Dang that looks as cold as it is, unique shade of light you present. Relief is on the way, hope it doesn't turn into an ice storm...hate those. best...jerry
ordinaryimages @ 2010-01-11 21:11:12 - lovely. especially the colors in the water and the bleached grass on the other side. feels very calm.
michele @ 2010-01-11 21:38:30 - The image has a stark feel with the dead trees sticking up here and there. It looks very cold and desolate too. Fine image.
don @ 2010-01-11 22:10:58 - but i wouldn't want to have to make an ocean out of buckets :) serene shot, yet a little creepy, in a good way of course :)
Elaine- @ 2010-01-12 00:14:43 - magnifique!
objectif-p @ 2010-01-12 01:07:35 - what a great thought in the quote section!
love this image, those broken trees frozen just reflect the mood i'm in :)
yz @ 2010-01-12 01:29:17 - The soft tones are lovely and soothing!
Pavan Kaul @ 2010-01-12 01:30:30 - What a wonderful quote to add character and meaning to the image. Something very peaceful and soothing about it.
Marcie @ 2010-01-12 03:27:03 - Beautiful composition photographic, good selection of framing, bravo!
THEYS @ 2010-01-12 03:55:41 - Wonderful composition with the tones contrast!
I like the quote.
Standley @ 2010-01-12 04:21:19 - sherri, I like the last three images you have posts with their common colors and tones!
Ken @ 2010-01-12 05:26:54 - I like the tones and the quiet mood.
BoB @ 2010-01-12 08:07:58 - sherri, i enjoy the images of the pond in it's natural state...stumps and all
elk @ 2010-01-12 09:06:27 - Very nice tones !
Laurent @ 2010-01-12 09:49:46 - i love marshes, nice one.
Robin @ 2010-01-12 10:00:16 - Fine image, Sherri - I love how the horizontals and verticals weave a wintry serenity.
Stephen Phillips @ 2010-01-12 12:18:33 - excellent winter color palette and scenery
yiannis krikis @ 2010-01-12 12:23:25 - wow icy lake, must be very cold there right now. great capture!
Liang @ 2010-01-12 13:04:27 - Appears to be a desolate area. The pond looks completely frozen. Well captured!
Frida @ 2010-01-12 15:26:13 - Really like what you've done with the light there....Tones are great. Good shot!
mike @ 2010-01-12 17:50:49 - I like the desaturated effect. It goes well with the desolation inherent in the snap.
Anshul @ 2010-01-12 19:05:27 - Ah, one of my favorites in terms of subject matter - ponds with dead trees or stumps. Nature's way of doing "natural" recycling. And, of course, there's the seasonal recycling that's portrayed here (the dormancy of winter). I too like the subdued tones. They amplify the "message".
Paul Maxim @ 2010-01-14 06:49:39 - you are a master at pairing quotes with your amazing and thought-provoking images. Sorry I have not been doing much visiting lately -- trying to accomplish some catching up.
Diane @ 2010-01-14 22:40:58 - Looks like a good place to fish when it gets warmer. I wish I was there. Nice image.
Jim Browning @ 2010-01-20 18:57:16 - Its been way too long since I've participated in joys of photoblogging. What a gorgeous image that punches with such stoic restraint of color. It's there, and quite beautiful, but refuses to entertain the full spectrum. Cold never felt so chilly.
Chris Cardelli @ 2010-01-22 10:47:37 - Nice one Sherri. There is something very atmospheric about this shot. The dead trees on what could be a frozen river and the bleached possibly frosty grass against a backdrop of leafless trees. It has a 'nuclear winter' feel about it.

Many drops make a bucket, many buckets make a pond, many ponds make a lake, and many lakes make an ocean.
