- Nice shot, I am always a fan of different types of cameras. Ahhh i haven't been here in so long that your layout has changed. I really like the new look.
Brian Chen @ 2009-12-19 22:42:32 - Fascinating and beautifully staged. For me it's baffling again and again being remembered who simple the basics of photography are. I am so used to running around with a supercomputer's (20 years back, ok) computing power on a strap, just to recept and memorize photons.
Markus @ 2009-12-20 01:08:04 - Never seen it before. I wonder what the people in the future will think of our DSLRs?!
Zing @ 2009-12-20 02:32:48 - amazing to see how far photography equipment developed from the beginning
and also funny to think about that many of our predecessors made much better images than us :)
yz @ 2009-12-20 03:19:46 - Great souvenirs Sherri.
A great uncle of mine who was a professional photographer used this type of camera to shoot portraits in his studio in Madagascar in the 60's.
Standley @ 2009-12-20 03:48:44 - They are almost works of ancient forgotten art. Wonderful image!!
Marcie @ 2009-12-20 04:11:47 - Beautiful image, it surely does look very interesting.
Ashish Sidapara @ 2009-12-20 08:35:36 - This is very cool! Really takes us back to another time.
Krista @ 2009-12-20 08:39:02 - Cameras made of wood have a special feel that I like. I still have a wooden view camera that is so pretty I don't want to use it! (Now that is really a distorted sense of values, isn't it) I like your image very much. I hope there will always be people who keep these old processes alive.
don @ 2009-12-20 09:24:32 - A great, wooden camera. I would like use it.
Joachim @ 2009-12-20 09:48:15 - that sure seems like an unwieldy piece of equipment.. but i'd still want to try to shoot with it though.. :) very nice capture! :)
rian @ 2009-12-20 09:54:19 - A work of art and a reminder of how simple things can result in a really nice image :-)
Frida @ 2009-12-20 12:38:11 - Would love to try one of those some time.
Bouncing Light @ 2009-12-20 14:15:24 - Nice one. And I like your new look here, quite a cool template with a nice and effective interface.
javga @ 2009-12-20 14:27:19 - hi sherri! love the new color scheme and layout. always great to see your images. this one is no exception!
Liang @ 2009-12-20 14:54:26 - Not the pocket model?
Reinhold Möller @ 2009-12-20 16:14:01 - That's a heck of a camera.
jasp @ 2009-12-20 16:22:29 - That's very interesting/cool...I'm not certain I have the patience for it. In fact, I'm sure I don't. I fully appreciate the art of it though. Much respect to the tinotype photog (and to you for this shot).
Hess @ 2009-12-20 18:21:54 - I love the look of craftmanship in the camera.
Michael Rawluk @ 2009-12-20 20:08:02 - so amazing that it works. your portrait of this camera does it proud.
michele @ 2009-12-20 20:53:37 - Now that digital photography is all the thing/rage, more and more will want to go back to the good ol' days, Sherri, I'm sure...no matter how much the film/developing costs. As long as we don't lose the old ways, we'll be fine. :)
Ginnie @ 2009-12-21 00:53:23 - great shot, its like some odd mask. Nice one

Calusarus @ 2009-12-22 12:20:58 - It's amazing to see how far we've come over the many years of photography. And even in this age of digital, we are still fascinated with the most primitive form. I guess that's why I really like pinhole as well.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Sherri :)
bluechameleon @ 2009-12-22 14:38:15 - For me, the tones are what makes the image so nice. Everything is warm and soft. Nice!

Diane @ 2009-12-23 18:12:30 - Well at least I can say this was before my time. Interesting to imagine the thrill those early photographers must have felt to see pictures developing in front of their eyes, must have been like magic back then. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas Sherri.
John Maslowski @ 2009-12-23 21:11:53 - i am so happy to have a camera

Steve Silberman said, "Film is cheaper than opportunity".
I'd say that even in the world of digital images, photographers could identify with the value of opportunity.
