- a warm climate is the only sane place to be in december.
i like the delicate white flowers and how these work with the relief on the plant pot.
michele @ 2009-12-09 22:13:52 - The colours are wonderful and I like the combination of the red, green and white. Your chosen depth of field and the background gives this a very cool feel. Bravo!
bluechameleon @ 2009-12-09 22:28:43 - This speaks to me in ways that would take too long to explain. That person out there in the shallow dof is so much a part of this. I sure do wish it was possible to say, Sherri let's go catch a cup of coffee tomorrow.
Diane @ 2009-12-09 23:22:38 - love the color balance here
the carpet and the bricks have the same deep shade of red as the flowers
yz @ 2009-12-10 02:14:00 - What a great composition. Love the red and delicate white blur of colors. Beautiful!
Reiner @ 2009-12-10 05:03:07 - Well, I for one, like snow with my winter (and we sure got it yesterday!). Nice shot despite the lack of snow.
Turnbill @ 2009-12-10 05:25:49 - Lovely...I like all the white.
Otto K. @ 2009-12-10 07:09:38 - Love your selective coloring here. And - it is an almost contradiction to see geraniums draped in christmas lights!!!
Marcie @ 2009-12-10 07:35:44 - Very nice compo and dof, I like also the tones
BoB @ 2009-12-10 07:48:02 - The reds go really well together here...warms up the shot nicely. The texture of the brick facade and pot are fantastic.
Hess @ 2009-12-10 07:54:39 - Very lovely summertime shot . Great dof !
MARIANA @ 2009-12-10 10:11:39 - Bonsoir,
A nice composition..Beautiful DOF..Bravo!
jelb @ 2009-12-10 10:59:56 - A beautiful image, Sherri. It has that shabby chic look which I like very much.
Michael Skorulski @ 2009-12-10 11:19:36 - Ah, dang. You are making me miss the warm climate! I loved Christmas in a bikini by the pool. Our hi yesterday was ten. Right now it's 1. Yeah, 1. With snow in the forcast. But your photo is making me feel warmer.
sylvia cole @ 2009-12-10 13:39:53 - Hmm, I really cherish those broken, desaturated, unobtrusive colors. This way even the red/green contrast, which can be annoyingly vivid at times, places itself in a welcoming mood. This image definitely works for me.
Markus @ 2009-12-10 14:40:47 - Wow never seen that here Sherri! Beautiful shot.
Andy @ 2009-12-10 15:36:22 - Great composition. I would love to have a climate like that in December. We have about 5-6 ours of sun/daylight now and not even that most of the days. Rain and gray weather are a standard weather here right now.
Frida @ 2009-12-10 15:53:34 - i totally agree with you.. except for the usual short drops in temps, i'm totally digging the temperate climate.. :) very nice shot.. :)
rian @ 2009-12-10 17:16:59 - yea its been mild so far hasnt it. global warming.
faisal @ 2009-12-10 21:35:57 - A beautifully processed picture! Well done!

Standley @ 2009-12-11 05:23:53 - ah ...yes it DOES have its benefits...i especially love the white blurred background...
elk @ 2009-12-11 07:42:34 - This image says it all... comfort and joy for me!
Ken @ 2009-12-11 09:31:10 - Very nice detail. I like the low saturation in this one.
Andrés @ 2009-12-11 10:38:44 - great framing and processing
yiannis krikis @ 2009-12-11 11:00:54 - Extra composition and lovely and warm colours.

Nick @ 2009-12-11 20:36:46 - I like your new design.
Nick @ 2009-12-11 20:39:42 - And a red mat too. What a great find - and perfectly captured too! And I agree - the new design is really great!
martie @ 2009-12-12 00:30:46 - I like the red, green and white components of the picture. It makes a fine Christmas shot. Nice exposure and processing to get these mild, accurate colors.
don @ 2009-12-12 09:21:45 - The color treatment makes the scene look cold, great effect! Cool looking redesign too :)
Will Williams @ 2009-12-12 10:44:44 - Love the framing, beautiful shot. The new layout looks good.
Ashish Sidapara @ 2009-12-12 10:51:26 - Love the slight desaturation here...nice framing too!
Susan @ 2009-12-12 16:34:56 - Lovely shot, great Christmas colours.
Zing @ 2009-12-12 23:07:58 - Very well chosen composition, Sherri. And I really like the muted colors you chose.
kurt @ 2009-12-13 05:48:38 - Such nice composition and bokeh here! Well done!
m i c k e s @ 2009-12-14 12:22:34 - I can't see our geraniums now, given that the pot is under a foot of snow. Pretty shot, though. :-)
Erinn @ 2009-12-14 13:00:51 - Hi Sherri, I love what you did with the color process here. Great shot!! I hope you have a great week and happy shooting ;)
John Masters @ 2009-12-14 22:40:29 - One might admit there's nothing particularly special about the shot at first glance, but the color dampening and the blurred backdrop, the layers of light in the background and of course the combination of the pot and carpet... A great composition. I like it very much Congrats!
Mike @ 2009-12-16 16:49:51 - magnifique couleurs et contrastes
ilandsis @ 2009-12-17 05:32:01 - This is so beautiful!
Krista @ 2009-12-19 13:21:04 - Beautiful "slice `o life" image. I'm such a fan of muted colors like this - very well done Sherri!
Bob Towery @ 2009-12-20 01:03:18 - i like your processing here.
grant @ 2010-01-03 18:45:14

One of the fringe benefits of living in a warm climate.
Photography has increased my awareness.
